About Western Educational Adventures

Western Educational Adventures Inc. (WEA) is a small, family-run company that operates bus charters, outdoor adventure camps and youth leadership programs on Vancouver Island, primarily in the Greater Victoria area.

How we work

Our programs are experiential and educational, focused on building confidence, teamwork and real outdoor skills. As our program documents put it, we operate our programs 100% outside and often in wilderness environments, which is why packing lists, preparation and qualified instructors matter so much to us. All of our camps and school programs are led by highly trained and qualified outdoor instructors who focus on safety, learning and fun.

We keep our websites, registration and program pages in-house, and we keep our groups personal. When you call, you reach the same small team that plans the trips, drives the buses and leads the hikes. Landon and his team, as one Victoria educator put it after an Outdoor Day for her Grade 6 and 7 students, do a fantastic job of organizing and running these days, and parent and student feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Where we operate

Greater Victoria is home: Saanich, Sooke, Langford and the Westshore. Our programs also run in Duncan, Nanaimo, the Comox Valley, Campbell River, Tofino, Port Renfrew and Woss, in three general areas of Vancouver Island, from Beaver Lake day camps to the Sayward Forest, Desolation Sound and Strathcona Park expeditions.

Our partners

Overnight camps and youth expeditions run in partnership with the Western Educational Adventure Society (WEAS, weaoutdoors.ca). Our Adult Outdoor Social Adventures program is a community-focused, volunteer-driven program supported by WEA, working toward becoming its own independent non-profit society.

Money should not be the barrier

Free and subsidized school programs and financial assistance are available. If cost is the thing standing between your child or your class and the outdoors, talk to us.
